These are my new best friends...
They are to expensive to come visit me at my house, to I just go visit them from time to time at their house! And that's alright, cause they have lots of other lovely friends there too...
Sigh... I love that store... someday I'm just gonna move in:)

It feels good to have time... I have to admit I am relearning how to enjoy it. I will take pictures and start posting some of them here. AND... they aren't all Scenic Route Stuff, I've been collecting things I like for years knowing that evetually I'd have time to use it. I love mixing the patterns and colors, I love taking my time, and love LOVE going through my pictures deciding what to scrap next! (In fact, I just ordered 602 pictures from Shutterfly! (Only $.10 per picture(when you pre-buy 600 for $60) AND free shipping!!!)
I was thinking about posting a layout a day in February -- and maybe having a sale to go with it in the Scenic Route Store... Oooh, and some give aways! Yay! I'll ponder that and let you know the details in the next couple of days!

Yes, I realize that Halloween was almost 2 weeks ago (actually I didn't, where did the last 2 weeks go?)... I am somewhat notorious for not getting pictures downloaded and shared quickly. I'll work on that... In the meantime, have you seen cuter kids on Halloween?
Christopher was SUPPOSED to be a puppy, I got a cute little "puppy suit" from Target but when it came time for pictures he wanted nothing to do with it, I didn't even get a picture with the floppy ears! The ghost t-shirt from the $1 section however, was a hit. Josh was easy, he gave me a list of 3 things he wanted to be: Darth Vador, a skeleton, or a vampire-in that order. Not only did I find Darth Vador, but I scored major points by getting the right colored light saber(It's so handy how they put it right on the packaging, but Josh doesn't need to know that!) Amelia is never easy for Halloween, she always wants to be something that you can't find in a store so we end up making it. Sewing is not my talent, fortunately it only has to last a couple of days. She was a "Macabre Lady at the Ball", we both really liked it but I couldn't get the perfect picture. Her friend was there and I didn't want to embarrass her her by taking 4 million pictures so we just took 2 million.

I try to take my family up to sundance every year for fall photos. We didn't make it last year, I was pregnant and sick and just wasn't up to it, so I made sure we went this year. We went with some good friends and took about a ba-zillion pictures... seriously. Here are just a few.
They really do like each other most of the time... Have you ever had that moment when you pat yourself on the back cause your kids are so great, they like each other and never fight, they do what they are told (the first time... as long as we're dreaming) and you actually cooked a meal and ate before 8:00pm. You're sure you'll be nominated for mother of the year...Then suddenly all hell breaks loose in the next room? Yeah, we get that about once a week around here... well at least the hell breaking loose part, dinner before 8:00...never, I wouldn't want to completely bury all the other moms in the "Mother of the year" competition.
Amelia is almost a teenager... I am decidedly NOT ready for that. I had no idea I would be so unprepared for the emotional roller coaster, pimples and showering everyday... but my goodness she gets more beautiful every day (I imagine that won't be such a good thing when she's in jr. high with all those adolescent boys)
Christopher was unimpressed with the cold, the camera and the goofy parents trying to coax a smile out fo him.
If you know Josh, you know his kung fu moves... his never ending kung fu moves.
Just 2 words for this one...Lady-Killer

It is official, we are closing Scenic Route.
As you can imagine, I have mixed feelings about this but overall I am happy to start a new chapter and adventure. I know it is cliche at times like these to say "I really just want to spend more time with my family" but that, more than anything has been my motivation to let SR go. I am also looking forward to having more time to scrapbook, read, quilt and just chill... it's been a while, I can't wait. I am looking forward to being the student seats at the scrapbook expos and eagerly anticipate new releases at CHA from my favorite brands. I am going to attend crops with my friends and maybe even join a kit club!
I am so proud of what we have accomplished over the last 6 years. I love Scenic Route, the friends I have made, scrapbooking, our employees and the 4 zillion lessons learned.
Here is the official e-mail we sent out... the part the got cut off on the right explains that we'll be at the Ontario and Sacramento Expos in October, if your going to be there, come say hi!

He is healthy, happy and just as sweet as can be! We are loving our time together as a family snuggling and getting to know Christopher.
A special thanks to my sister and Mom for being there when he was a born and again to my mom for going above and beyond in the days after at home! Thank You!

Look what I found in my inbox when I got back! Danielle Flanders gave me a heads up that Scenic Route has been featured in the Monthly Card Kit for Create My Keepsake. She, Danielle, is on their design team and did some really cute stuff with Garden Grove. You can see her projects on her blog! -Danielle Flanders
You'll also want to check out Create My Keepsake to see how to get your hands on this really great kit!
I am home and feeling good, loving the snuggle time with our new baby Christopher! I'll post more details and some pictures tomorrow!

finding great pictures you forgot you took!
Where do you print your digital pictures?
I've used Shutterfly and been happy with the pictures, I also have a wide format printer but find it's a lot of work and certainly doesn't save money. I just use it for bigger pictures... which I don't do very often.
My biggest challenge is editing and uploading, and lately just taking pictures. I've been thinking about bribing Amelia with a new outfit, not that she complains much about having her picture taken anyway. Josh however has no interest in clothes, he'll require a toy... fortunately Happy Meal toys work just fine.
