Here are a few more Crate Paper Little Bo Peep layouts. This first is one of my favorites, and so simple. While the yellow and grey pallete is non-traditional for baby projetcs, the touches of pink really make it sweet :)
I used opaque white Mister Huey's to break up the grey background a little bit here. I use that trick when I want the photo to be the focus, but the background is so contrasting and expansive that it's distracting.
Adding torn strips and stitching to the edges of the page is something you'll see quite a bit on both Crate Paper and Studio Calico layouts, it's an easy detail to add for a vintage/shabby look!
Most American Crafts collections have at least one paper that's divided into segments. The pieces are perfect to trim apart and use for embellishments, layering, journaling and especially cards. This card is literally a 5 minute project. I trimmed out the banner card, fit it to a grey card base, stitched along the top of the banners for an extra detail, stamped a sentiment and added a few dropped of Mr. Huey's and... ta-done :)
This card took just a couple minutes longer but I used the same paper and stamp. I made the rosette with the American Crafts scallop border punch and the AC portable trimmer. It doesn't have lots of bells and whistles, but it comes with a cutting blade, scoring blade and a swing out ruler so you can easily cut 12x12 paper + it's inexpensive and light weight... so basically, it's perfect for simple little projects like this!
My time in front of the computer is about as limited as my time at my scrapbook table... but I am not going to let that stop me. I am sure that I am not the only one juggling 42 things with little free time for scrappbooking. This layout is really fast, with lots of photos... I think even I may have time to lift this one:)
We went up Provo canyon a couple weeks ago. It was barely warm enough, but as it starts to warm up, I just cannot wait to get up into the mountains! We ended up only being up there for about an hour. After our little picnic a certain cute boy needed to go potty and the restrooms were not yet open for the season.
